Altran is the largest independent Engineering Service Provider (ESP) in the world, having reported €2,2 billion revenues in 2017. Once the merger with Aricent completes mid-2018, their combined revenues for 2017 are expected to have been ca. €3 billion. Their present combined workforce consists of 45.000 employees, of which about 90% are having a master degree in engineering. To sustain and expand that capacity we are still actively hiring new employees around the world, including Belgium.
Altran’s services are focused around the following brands:
- Altran Consulting
- Altran Digital
- Altran Engineering
- World Class Centers
- Industrialized GlobalShore®
- Cambridge Consultants
Altran originated out of the aerospace sector from where it diversified to most other sectors. Much of our revenues are still in that sector, with most of that in the supply chain of Airbus. Altran is presently one of its main product development partners, and as such has major product development bureaus situated near to Airbus’s main hubs. These product development services are also available in Belgium through Altran’s offices in Brussels, Ghent, Leuven and Namur.
In Belgium, most sizeable aerospace companies already use Altran services. The total workforce in Belgium is around 850 FTE’s, of which 650 are locally employed.
Whilst many know Altran primarily for its Engineering Services, it is less known that Altran is also a very capable partner for innovative product development and transformational outsourcing. For the latter we continue to strengthen our present “Industrialized GlobalShore®” centers in India, Portugal, Morocco and Ukraine supported by a network of local front offices. The total available capacity in such centers totals circa 15,000 engineers today.
Supporting these services, Altran continues to establish World Class Centres (WCC) around the globe, each specialized in a particular domain. The intent is to establish 15 centers by 2020. At present the following WCC’s are already actively used by their clients:
- Innovation & Design
- IoT Solutions
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Advanced Networks
- Passive Safety
- Life Sciences Process Excellence
As part of their Ignition.2020 strategy, Altran also wants to strengthen and expand its present business consulting capabilities, aiming to become a world leader in the innovation & research segment of the product lifecycle.
